On Tuesday, 7/17, the Board of Select(wo)men unanimously voted to let the town manager enter into lease negotiations with us for the Town Annex building, otherwise known as "The Bank Building". The space is pretty small, but we feel strongly that we should start small, learn, and build off our successes and our failures, so a small space will work just fine.
Funding Update: On Friday, 7/20, we submitted our final grant package to Mass Development's Collaborative Workspace program. Writing a grant was a first for most of us, but the combined force of the whole group came to bear and I think we submitted a truly competitive proposal to add funds to our makerspace in Middleboro. The good news is, that grant or no grant, this project is surging forward. On another front, our kickstarter is stalling, and we could use your help. Could you throw us $5, $10, or $20 to help bring this nonprofit makerspace to town? This is doable, but we need a lot of people to commit the equivalent of a couple morning coffees to get there. Let's assume we're at $1,500 for easy math; If 300 people donated 5, if 150 donated 10, or if 75 donated 20, we'd be at our goal. If you already donated, THANKYOU and please help us reach your friends. If you haven't donated yet, please consider it, and come see us at Krazy Days, and let us talk you into what this makerspace could be for our kids and our residents.
