WELCOME TO BOROBOT
Teaching the power to create
BoroBot is a group of local volunteers that make up a public-private partnership combining the efforts of local business, the school district, and the town government to boost STEM learning opportunities for children and adults. Our early focus is to teach advanced prototyping techniques like the CAD->3D printing pathway with a focus on electronics and micro-controllers, but our long term goal is to teach the skills to jump start a young career or restart an established one with marketable skills and an entrepreneurial focus.
Current Classes
#3D PRINTING
We are happy to offer both Adult (age 22+) and kids (age 8-21) 3d printing. In these classes, we teach computer aided design and then how to export, format, and send the file to our 3d printers. Students will get an in-class print, and a final project that we will print for pickup. Come join us and learn how to prototype on 3d printers.
LASERCUTTING
SOLDERING
& ELECTRONICS
In this 2-hour class, Heather and co-teachers will teach children ages 8-21. Students will be able to design their own project that will be cut in front of their eyes and be ready to take home by the end. Students will learn about vector drawing using web tools, laser safety, and the basics of laser cutting.
This 2-hour class is for complete beginners, ages 10-21. We will spend time focusing on soldering technique, learning a little about the common electronic components that we will use, and then building an interactive electronic project that will continue to work at home!
